About me

I am a very experienced English Secondary School teacher.  I have taught in London schools for fifteen years.  FFT results for GCSE English placed my school in the top 1% of the country in 2017. I taught two year 11 classes during that year and I am very happy to have contributed to such an outstanding success. During my extensive period of teaching, I have supported and stretched students who were preparing for English Literature and Language GCSEs.  I have always managed to motivate students and instil in them a passion for the subject.  I enjoy students who need help in achieving the pass mark, which is now a level 4, grade C.  I am also able to help students, who have the potential, to reach the top level 9, equivalent to an A**.

I am also an experienced tutor.  I use my knowledge of being a GCSE examiner to help students achieve a high mark.  It is very important that students are clear about the assessment objectives for each paper.  

I have worked as an Examiner for the past twenty years. I have been an Examiner for all four of the GCSE English Language Papers. This enables me to understand exactly how to achieve marks in the GCSE exams. With this knowledge I have written comprehensive revision material for all of the key GCSE Literature texts, including detailed essay plans and exemplary essays, written by me.
